Is your website at risk from PHP2Shell?

Two critical flaws have been found in PHP, the software that runs most small business websites, including almost every WordPress site. Attackers are already trying to use them to take sites over. The fix is an update, usually done by whoever hosts your website.

  • WordPress, Joomla, Drupal or a site on a hosting package such as 123-reg, GoDaddy or IONOS: check it today.
  • Wix, Squarespace or Shopify: these don't use PHP in a way that affects you.
  • Not sure what your site runs on? The free check below will tell you.

Sound familiar?

If it wastes your time every week, it's worth a conversation.

There's no menu to choose from. Bring us the problem in your own words. These are the sort of things we hear most.

We type the same details into three different systems.

We connect them so it's entered once.

Chasing unpaid invoices is someone's whole Friday.

Polite reminders go out on time, by themselves.

The rota only works because one person holds it in their head.

A clear rota anyone can update and everyone can see.

Enquiries arrive by phone, email, text and the website.

One list, so nothing slips through.

Month-end reports take two days of copy and paste.

Reports that build themselves from the data you already have.

Our database and our finance system don't talk to each other.

We link them, and tell you when something doesn't match.

Not on the list? That's normal. Tell me the job you dread every Monday morning. The best fixes are usually for problems nobody thought were fixable.

How it works

No risk to you. That's the whole idea.

You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before we start, and you don't pay a penny until it does what we said it would.

  1. A free call

45 minutes on Teams, Zoom or the phone. You explain the problem; we ask questions until we understand it properly.

  2. A fixed quote

A price, a timescale and a written "done" list in plain English. If the price isn't right, you've lost nothing.

  3. Alexein builds it

Using the tools you already have wherever possible, such as Microsoft 365, your accounts package or your CRM.

  4. Chris checks it, then you do

Chris tests every item first. Then we go through the "done" list together. Anything not ticked gets fixed before you pay.

  5. Then you pay

Once every item is ticked. If you'd like us to keep it running, there's an optional care plan.

Prices

Priced by the size of the job, not by the hour.

Every quote is fixed. These ranges give you an idea before we speak.

Small fix

£400–£600

One problem, one or two systems, usually done within a couple of weeks.

For example: an online form that files itself into the right spreadsheet and emails the right person.

Medium fix

£700–£1,200

Several steps or systems joined together, or a simple tool built for your team.

For example: a booking and reminder system that links your calendar, your customers and your invoices.

Larger project

Quoted individually

Bigger pieces of work, split into clear stages. Half is paid at the halfway point, once you've seen it working.

For example: replacing a tangle of spreadsheets with one proper system.

Care plan, if you want one

We keep an eye on what we've built, make small changes when your business changes, and fix things quickly if a supplier updates their software. Cancel any time. Or skip it and just call us when you need us.

£100per month
£75per hour, as needed

Prices exclude VAT where applicable.

Alexein's promises

— Alexein
  • A human checks everything.Nothing I build goes live until Chris has tested it against your "done" list.
  • Your data stays yours.Built inside the tools you already own wherever possible. A data processing agreement on every job, and nothing used to train anyone's AI.
  • No black boxes.Every fix comes with a plain-English note of what it does and how to switch it off.
  • No lock-in.If you ever leave, you keep everything and it keeps working.
  • Helps people, doesn't replace them. The aim is fewer boring jobs for your team, not fewer people.
  • Honest about limits. If a job isn't worth automating, I'll say so, and so will Chris.
  • You only pay when it works.Every item on the list ticked, or you don't pay. Simple as that.

Alexein does the heavy lifting. Chris makes sure it's right.

Alexein is the name for the AI tools that build your fix quickly, which is how the prices stay fair. Chris is the person you talk to, who decides what gets built, checks every piece of it, and answers for it.

A bit about Chris

Chris has spent a career making technology work for organisations that don't have time to think about technology: first as an IT administrator, then running IT departments as an IT manager, then eight years consulting for national membership organisations and professional bodies, helping small teams get more out of their databases, websites and Microsoft 365.

The lesson from all of it: most businesses don't need a big project. They need one annoying problem to go away, done properly, at a price that makes sense. Alexein makes that affordable. Chris makes sure it's right.

  • Deep experience with Microsoft 365 and membership CRMs

Questions

The things people usually ask.

Who is Alexein?

Alexein is the name we give the AI tools that do the building work. Alexein isn't a person, and won't pretend to be one. Every job is planned, tested and signed off by Chris, and Chris is who you talk to.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you can describe what's annoying you, that's enough. We'll explain everything in plain English and give you written instructions at the end.

What if it doesn't work?

Then you don't pay. The written "done" list is the test. If something isn't ticked, we keep going until it is, at no extra cost.

Who owns what you build?

You do. It runs in your own accounts and systems, and you get the documentation. You're never locked in to us.

What systems do you work with?

Most of our work is with Microsoft 365, common accounts packages, CRMs and membership databases, website forms and spreadsheets. If you use something else, ask; the answer is usually yes.

What if the AI gets something wrong?

That's exactly why Chris checks everything. Nothing goes live until it has passed every item on your "done" list, and if something stops working later, Chris is the one who sorts it.

Will you need access to our data?

Usually some, for testing. We sign a data processing agreement, follow UK GDPR, and only access what the job needs.

Do you come on site?

We work remotely, which keeps prices down. For larger projects we're happy to visit.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. 45 minutes, no obligation. Even if we don't work together, you'll come away with a clearer idea of what's possible.

What happens after it's delivered?

It's yours. You can take the optional care plan, call us for one-off changes at our hourly rate, or do nothing at all.

Tell us what's getting in the way.

A couple of sentences is plenty. We'll reply within one working day to arrange a time that suits you.
